Hi everyone,

I am sorry for being away for so long but I have been really busy getting ready for a show this weekend.I am still trying to finish up a few last minute things and I have not did any pricing.I don't know why I always leave the pricing until last.We still need to get out all my tables and display pieces but that will happen tomorrow. On top of all of this I have been trying to fight off a cold all week but it finally hit me really hard last night...really sore throat, sneezing, runny nose....just feel really bad but I am trying to push through it and hope the cold medicine works.

I did manage to finish a new Santa doll yesterday.I was really pleased with how he turned out.I made him from a pattern by The Olde Country Cupboard.I love Sandy's patterns! He will be going to the show this weekend.I would also like to invite you to come to the show.

Decorating and getting ready for a show

Hi everyone,

I know I have been slack in updating my blog but I have been really busy for the last while and it doesn't look like things are going to slow down anytime soon.I had several doctor appointments, got those out of the way and everything is looking good.I had a mammogram last Friday and have been worrying myself silly ever since.I haven't heard anything from it and I know it has only been a week today so hopefully I will hear something soon.I am praying everything is ok.

I finally got all of my decorating in my kitchen finished and I did some Fall and Halloween decorating too.I didn't do as much this year.I still have not took any pictures of my outside decorating but like I said I didn't do too much.I thought I would show you some pictures of my kitchen.I still need to get a new light for over the sink and I want to get a new table and chairs.Mark still needs to get my black chandlier hung up.I guess I need to nag some more...LOL.

I have been really busy making things for a show I am doing in Nov. and I am tripling everything I make so I can also have things for the shops that I make things for.It seems like their Christmas open houses are hitting at the same time as the show I am doing.I thought I would post some pictures of a couple things I made this week.I have things everywhere in my sewing room....doll bodies,a pile of sewn things that needs to be stuffed, finished stitcheries that need to be stained and either made into pillows or framed, etc. I still have lots more to do so there will be more pictures to share.

The Santa doll was made from a Bittersweet Folkart pattern.I was pleased with how he came out.I love your patterns Mandy! The Christmas themed Prairie doll was made from a You Are Special pattern.I think it is going to be one of my favorites!I also love your patterns Sandy! Both Mandy and Sandy(hey that rhymes...LOL)are very talented ladies!

I will go for now and get to bed,it has been a long day and I need to get up early so I can go to AC Moore and Michael's to get some supplies.I hope everyone will enjoy the weekend!

Prim hugs,

Finally,Fall Primitives

Hi everyone!

I know it is still hot, well at least it is here in my part of NC.It was 91 degrees today but alot less humid which was nice. There is a cold front coming through and we are going to dip down into the 80s....yeah!I know that is still warm but at least it is not 90 and it is getting cooler and that makes me think of Fall....can you tell I am ready for cooler temps and Fall...LOL.I love Fall!It is my favorite season!I love to decorate for Fall and I love making Fall themed primitives. Now that it has started to cool off some I am really wanting to decorate for Fall but I am trying to hold off until the first of Sept. I have been working on some Fall primitives and today I made a scarecrow.I wanted to make this scarecrow last year and never got around to it so I made sure to make it this year.It is so cute!It is a design by TFC Folkart. It was a free pattern in a past issue of Mercantile Gatherings magazine.I love the size of it...not too big and not too small.I really would like to keep it but I need things for the shops that I sell to and of course if you are interested in this cute scarecrow I am always glad to make more, just email me:

I have more Fall and Halloween primitives in the works and I hope to have more pictures to share real soon.

I have been a little down, just some things going on that I really have no control over and need to quit thinking about but it made me not want to sew or work on my primitives but in that down time I knew I needed to stay busy or drive myself crazy...so I have been giving my house a good cleaning and doing some decorating.I did some decorating in my kitchen and in my livingroom.I still have more to do in my kitchen and I will be sharing more pictures as I get things done in there. The gameboards are on a wall in my livingroom leading into the hallway. They were made by Lisa Robinson of Black Sheep Prims. We did a swap recently and she made all of the gameboards for me.I love them!Lisa is a very talented lady! Thanks again Lisa!Today I gave my livingroom a good cleaning and did some decorating and tweaking in there.I didn't take pictures of it but will when I get a few more things done in there but for now I hope you will enjoy the pictures of what I have done so far.Thank you so much for stopping by my blog!

Canister set and holder

Hi everyone!

I just had to make a post to brag on my sweet hubby. He made a primitive canister holder for me.I got the tutorial from Char's blog The Pickled Pepper Patch.Thank you so much Char!I think he did a great job considering he just recently started making wood things.I painted the canister holder black over mustard and I distressed it.I bought the glass jar canisters at Walmart. They had silver lids and that was not getting it so I painted them black and they look so much better!I put vintage labels on them to make them look more primitive.I think they look great!I bought the labels from Susie at Yankee Lane Primitives.Susie has the best labels!I am very pleased with my new canisters and holder!I hope to have more pictures of the things that Mark has made for me.He just recently made a bowl rack for me and I am going to paint it today.I am hoping the rain will hold off so I can get it painted and it can dry.I have to say a big thank you to my sweet hubby Mark!I love you honey!I hope everyone will have a great week!

Prim hugs,
