Merry Christmas From My House To Yours

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

Well I have gotten behind on my blog posting once again but it is that busy time of year.I love Christmas but every year I say I am going to get a good head start so that I can finish up everything and has some time to just relax and enjoy Christmas but once again here I am less than 2 weeks from Christmas and I still have so much to do!My decorating has been finished, thank goodness.I started Thanksgiving weekend.I didn't do as much this year...I simplified alot...LOL.I didn't even do that much outside.I just remembered I have not even took any outside pictures.I should do that today while there is still a dusting of snow on the ground.I just did a little decorating on the front porch and decorated my tobacco stitck gate.I also put out my Christmas flags.Mark put the icicle lights on the porch and the greenery with berry lights on the porch coloums and that was it for outside.I did take pictures of inside and I wanted to share them here on my blog.I did very little in my kitchen...just a touch here and there.I think I am liking the less is more look...LOL.

We have almost finished the shopping, just need to get a couple of gift cards and some little add ons to go with gifts.I am also working on making a few gifts too that I need to get finished.I have not wrapped one gift.It will probably take me a whole day to wrap everything. Our Christmas dinner menu is planned and next week I will start my baking. We will be going to my in-law's for Christmas Eve dinner and opening gifts and we will be going to my Mom's Christmas day for dinner and opening gifts. It is going to be non stop from now until Christmas for me.I guess I will rest after Christmas...LOL.

Well I guess I better end my break and get back to work.I just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from my house to yours!

Decorating and getting ready for a show

Hi everyone,

I know I have been slack in updating my blog but I have been really busy for the last while and it doesn't look like things are going to slow down anytime soon.I had several doctor appointments, got those out of the way and everything is looking good.I had a mammogram last Friday and have been worrying myself silly ever since.I haven't heard anything from it and I know it has only been a week today so hopefully I will hear something soon.I am praying everything is ok.

I finally got all of my decorating in my kitchen finished and I did some Fall and Halloween decorating too.I didn't do as much this year.I still have not took any pictures of my outside decorating but like I said I didn't do too much.I thought I would show you some pictures of my kitchen.I still need to get a new light for over the sink and I want to get a new table and chairs.Mark still needs to get my black chandlier hung up.I guess I need to nag some more...LOL.

I have been really busy making things for a show I am doing in Nov. and I am tripling everything I make so I can also have things for the shops that I make things for.It seems like their Christmas open houses are hitting at the same time as the show I am doing.I thought I would post some pictures of a couple things I made this week.I have things everywhere in my sewing room....doll bodies,a pile of sewn things that needs to be stuffed, finished stitcheries that need to be stained and either made into pillows or framed, etc. I still have lots more to do so there will be more pictures to share.

The Santa doll was made from a Bittersweet Folkart pattern.I was pleased with how he came out.I love your patterns Mandy! The Christmas themed Prairie doll was made from a You Are Special pattern.I think it is going to be one of my favorites!I also love your patterns Sandy! Both Mandy and Sandy(hey that rhymes...LOL)are very talented ladies!

I will go for now and get to bed,it has been a long day and I need to get up early so I can go to AC Moore and Michael's to get some supplies.I hope everyone will enjoy the weekend!

Finally,Fall Primitives

Hi everyone!

I know it is still hot, well at least it is here in my part of NC.It was 91 degrees today but alot less humid which was nice. There is a cold front coming through and we are going to dip down into the 80s....yeah!I know that is still warm but at least it is not 90 and it is getting cooler and that makes me think of Fall....can you tell I am ready for cooler temps and Fall...LOL.I love Fall!It is my favorite season!I love to decorate for Fall and I love making Fall themed primitives. Now that it has started to cool off some I am really wanting to decorate for Fall but I am trying to hold off until the first of Sept. I have been working on some Fall primitives and today I made a scarecrow.I wanted to make this scarecrow last year and never got around to it so I made sure to make it this year.It is so cute!It is a design by TFC Folkart. It was a free pattern in a past issue of Mercantile Gatherings magazine.I love the size of it...not too big and not too small.I really would like to keep it but I need things for the shops that I sell to and of course if you are interested in this cute scarecrow I am always glad to make more, just email me:

I have more Fall and Halloween primitives in the works and I hope to have more pictures to share real soon.

I have been a little down, just some things going on that I really have no control over and need to quit thinking about but it made me not want to sew or work on my primitives but in that down time I knew I needed to stay busy or drive myself crazy...so I have been giving my house a good cleaning and doing some decorating.I did some decorating in my kitchen and in my livingroom.I still have more to do in my kitchen and I will be sharing more pictures as I get things done in there. The gameboards are on a wall in my livingroom leading into the hallway. They were made by Lisa Robinson of Black Sheep Prims. We did a swap recently and she made all of the gameboards for me.I love them!Lisa is a very talented lady! Thanks again Lisa!Today I gave my livingroom a good cleaning and did some decorating and tweaking in there.I didn't take pictures of it but will when I get a few more things done in there but for now I hope you will enjoy the pictures of what I have done so far.Thank you so much for stopping by my blog!

Canister set and holder

Hi everyone!

I just had to make a post to brag on my sweet hubby. He made a primitive canister holder for me.I got the tutorial from Char's blog The Pickled Pepper Patch.Thank you so much Char!I think he did a great job considering he just recently started making wood things.I painted the canister holder black over mustard and I distressed it.I bought the glass jar canisters at Walmart. They had silver lids and that was not getting it so I painted them black and they look so much better!I put vintage labels on them to make them look more primitive.I think they look great!I bought the labels from Susie at Yankee Lane Primitives.Susie has the best labels!I am very pleased with my new canisters and holder!I hope to have more pictures of the things that Mark has made for me.He just recently made a bowl rack for me and I am going to paint it today.I am hoping the rain will hold off so I can get it painted and it can dry.I have to say a big thank you to my sweet hubby Mark!I love you honey!I hope everyone will have a great week!

A new Uncle Sam doll

Hi everyone,

Well it has been a long time since I posted and I thought I better post to let everyone know I am still here just have been really busy.I have been blessed with several orders and I put those first and after the orders I am still working on my house.I think the house projects are going to be never ending...LOL.Now there is the dreaded yard work added to that list too.I have also been doing some swaps which is so much fun!I am working on swaps right now along with making some new things.I finally made an Uncle Sam doll.Well I made up 2 but I just finished one of them.It is a black Uncle Sam.I love how it turned out!I love black dolls!I made it from a Bittersweet pattern. He has a bottle cap pin pinned to his hat, rusty safety pins on his shirt and on his boots. He holds his primitive flag that has a rusty bell pinned on it.Today I will be finishing a white Uncle Sam just like the black one.The black one is for sale if anyone is interested in it.You can email me:

and I will give you all the details.Well I guess I better get back to work.I hope to have another post tomorrow with pictures of the white Uncle Sam.Have a great day everyone!

I am back....again

Hi everyone,

I need to apologize once again for being so slack in updating my blog.Things have been crazy around my house. We are still working on our house and we ordered new livingroom furniture and a new mattress and they were finally delivered last Friday. So you know I have been redecorating and doing a lot of tweaking and when I think I am happy with everything I look around and don't like anything and start tweaking again. In between working on the house and getting the new furniture I was sick and am just now starting to feel better. It was some rough stuff and it put me behind for a few days.I am feeling so much better but still have the cough and from what I am hearing it hangs on for awhile....I wish it would go away...LOL.

I have also been very blessed with some orders and have been working on those and making somethings for myself.I have so many things that I want to make but there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day...LOL.Hopefully it won't be too much longer and I can post some pictures of the new things I am making.I have been making lots of bonnets lately.I have been blessed with orders for them and I have made a couple for myself.I have attached a picture of one I made for myself.

Well I just wanted to make a post to let everyone know that I am still here and I will attach some pictures of my new livingroom furniture but just remember I am still tweaking and moving things around and I have some new signs that I need to get hung too but at least you can see the new furniture.I am very pleased with it.I hope everyone will have a great week!

Thinking Spring

Hi everyone!

I hope you are staying warm.It has been so cold and windy here in my part of NC and now they are saying that sometime today we will be getting that white stuff....SNOW...that I don't like. They are not quite sure if it will be all snow or a mix of rain and snow with little accumulations...you can guess which one I am hoping for...LOL.Right now it is coming up on 7am and so far no snow...yeah!I am so ready for Spring so I have been thinking Spring.I have been making bunnies, chicks, carrots, eggs and lots of other stuff for Spring and Easter.I hope you will enjoy seeing the pictures of some of the things I have been making.Maybe they will have you thinking Spring too!As always if you see something that you are interested in just email me:

twellman@conninc.com give me a call or leave me a comment and I will help you as much as I can.I have been busy making things for a local shop and I am having so much fun making all of the bunnies and things for Spring.I also still have my booth at Great Finds Antique Mall so if you are in Hickory please stop by.I would also like to say thanks to the great pattern designers Chestnut Junction,TFC Folkart,Kentucky Primitives and Pineberry Lane for the great patterns that I used to make the bunnies, chicks, etc. I have been making.

Mark and I have been furniture shopping for the last couple weeks and finally last Tuesday we found the perfect livingroom furniture and got it all ordered. We had to order it so I could get the fabrics and colors that I wanted. We have another couple weeks to wait on it to get here.I can't wait!We also bought a new mattress. We needed a new one really bad.I am also getting a new bed but I am still shopping around for it.I have found a couple that I like but I still want to see what a few more furniture stores have to offer before I decide.Hopefully it won't be too much longer and you will see a post with pictures of my new furniture.Mark and I have been married for 13 years and we have bought no new furniture in that time except for an entertainment center for the tv and Mark's stereo equipment. So I am very much excited!Well I guess I better get myself to work on more bunnies and some stitchery pillows. Thanks for visiting my blog!I hope you will visit again soon!

Snow,Snow and More Snow

Hi everyone,

I know it has been a long time since I updated my blog but life just got in the way.I have had several doctor appointments but glad that all of that is done for another year and everything looks good.I have also been busy making things for a local shop and trying to make a few things for myself too which is rare...I never make anything for myself but I have decided to start.

All week on the weather reports they have been saying that we were going to have a very big snow storm to hit us starting Friday and going through to Saturday night and they were right. It started snowing at my house yesterday at 4:30 and it came down really heavy all through the night. It started sleeting early this morning and has continued to through the morning and at times there has been light snow too.If you know me you already know that I do not like snow.I do not go out in snow and I will not drive if there is even a trace of snow on the roads but I did bundle up and went out in the snow this morning to take some pictures. It is really pretty but I am ready for it to stop and melt and go away but I know that is not going to happen because the temps are to fall through the day and they are already talking about another round of this mess coming through late next week.I don't know when I will ever get out of this house!Anyway I hope you will enjoy these snow pictures.I also wanted to put in a picture of a doll that I made for my friend Sundae for Christmas.I made it using a pattern by Angel and the Crow.I love Catherine's patterns.I was really pleased with how this doll turned out and I even made one for myself but I still need to finish the pears to go with mine.I am busy working on things for a local shop.I have been sewing lots of bunnies and stitching some Spring and Easter stitcheries to make into pillows.I have bunny head ornies on my sewing table that need to be finished so hopefully you will get to see those soon. They are looking pretty cute so far.I will go for now and wait to see if my crazy hubby makes it back from the store. He just had to get out in the snow...thank goodness for 4 wheel drive.Enjoy the weekend and stay warm!
