Happy New Year!

I just wanted to take a minute to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!I sure am looking forward to the new year.Last year was not an entirely bad year for me as my business was good,I gained another shop to make things for and I made some very good friends and I am so very thankful for all of that! Also my husband's job has stayed steady with only a few cut hours so we are both thankful for that.I guess the only thing that wasn't good was my Mother-in-law's health issues and my niece's health issues.I pray that both of them will be better in the new year.I don't really make resolutions because they are so hard to stick too so I am going to try my best to get healthy by eating healthier and exercising,I want to learn to make penny rugs,I also want to make my business better and try my best to do more shows in the new year.Of course I want to do more things to my house and come Spring we will be putting in new bathrooms so that will be a big project.I also want to learn more about the computer and hopefully my nephew will be willing to help his dumb old Auntie...LOL.I want to make my blog more exciting and try my best to regularly make posts.I would also like to have some giveaways and maybe a swap or two.I love doing swaps and it has been a long time since I have joined in on any. Most of all I want to try to be a better person. My Daddy was the best person you would ever want to meet.He was always kind and giving and always thinking of others.I try to be like him and hopefully I can be more like him.

I also wanted to share a picture of some snowmen that I made for Christmas gifts. They seemed to go over really well.I just wish I would have made one for myself.I love snowmen!I have already put away all of my Christmas decorations but out came all of my snowmen and they will stay out until I put out Spring things.

Well it won't be much longer and the New Year will be here.We are real exciting around here,Mark is watching a movie and I am here on the computer and I am sure we will be in bed before midnight but whatever you are doing to bring in the new year I hope you will be safe.Goodbye 2011,Hello 2012!Happy New Year!

Christmas At My House 2011

Hi everyone,

I want to apologize for not posting in such a long time.I have been really busy with orders for the shops and then finishing a really big order that I just finished so finally I am finished with orders for 2011.We also had to be with my Mother-in-law right after Thanksgiving. She had to have surgery at Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem,NC.She has bone cancer and had some problems with her ovaries. They said a mass had formed from scar tissue and started to grow into her intestines so they wanted to remove it and there was a possibility it was cancer too.Thank the Lord her surgery went well and it was not cancer.Prayers were answered. She came home last Monday and is still recovering but doing some better. She goes back for a check up next week and I pray it will be good.

I finally got all of my Christmas decorating done.I didn't do as much this year.I went the less is more route...LOL.I am pleased with how it looks. We didn't do as much outside either. We just put the lighted holly garland on the columns on our front porch and hung icicle lights across the front of the porch.I put my Christmas wreath on the front door, put out my Christmas flags and decorated my old wood gate.I just put greenery garland, red berries and a Christmas sign.I did take some pictures of my inside decorating and I thought I would post them for you to see.I haven't put out my snowmen yet.I thought I would wait and put them out after Christmas so I would have a different look for the Winter.

I am not finished sewing for the year.I am working on some Christmas gifts.I hope to have everything finished before Christmas...LOL.I still have not wrapped one gift and I still need to finish buying a couple of gifts but I plan to do that within the next few days.I guess I will just take one day and do nothing but wrap gifts.I also still have baking to do and I know I will be spending the few days before Christmas in the kitchen getting ready for Christmas dinner at my Mom's house. We will also be going to my in-law's Christmas Eve,if my Mother-in-law is feeling up to it.

Well I better go for now and get to my sewing.I hope you will enjoy seeing my pictures.I hope you will have a very Merry Christmas!

Pilgrims

Hi everyone,

I am sorry it has been so long since I last posted but I have been so busy with orders that I haven't had much time for anything else.I wanted to make a quick post to share a picture of the Praying Pilgrims that I just finished last week.I was very pleased with how they turned out.I made them from a pattern by Hill Kountry Krafts. They would make a nice centerpiece for a dining room table for Thanksgiving dinner.I would love to make a set for myself but I doubt I will have time to with moving on to making Christmas primitives. So now I need to play catch up and give my house a good cleaning and finish my Fall decorating.I have only been doing a little at a time so hopefully I will get it all finished and can post some pictures.I guess I better go for now and get back to my sewing room.

I am finally getting a chance to post some more pictures of a couple of more things I have made.I love making Fall and Halloween primitives.I am having so much fun making pumpkin dolls. This one is Jack-O-Lin.She is 36 inches,so she is a big gal.She has a rusty key necklace, has her pet crow on her shoulder and Sweet Annie in her dress pocket.I made her from a pattern by Cats in the Barn.I love making stitcheries and this Halloween Sampler is one of my favorites.I like how it looks in the black wooden frame. It is 8x10.If you want to know more about these primitives just email me tammywellman14@yahoo.com and I will give you all the details.I just finished a couple of Halloween candle mats but I still need to take pictures of them.I also have a witch doll in the works so hopefully over the weekend I will be able to post pictures of it and the candle mats.I am wanting to start decorating for Fall but I normally don't start until the first of Sept. so I am trying my best to hold off but at least my sewing room is looking like Fall...LOL.I am so ready for some cool,Fall days but it looks like it will be awhile yet so for now I will just stay inside where it is cool and make my Fall primitives.I hope you are staying cool and looking forward to those cool days of Fall!

Thoughts of Fall

Hi everyone,

It has been so hot here in NC that I am trying to do anything I can to stay cool.I try not to go out for too long.I have asthma so it makes it hard for me to breathe when it is so hot out and if I am out for too long I end up using my inhaler and I don't like to do that unless I have to.So I have been staying inside in the cool AC in my sewing room working on Fall primitives.I love Fall!It is my favorite time of year.I love the cool, crisp days, the pretty leaves and I love to decorate for Fall!I thought I would show you some pictures of something that I made today. It is called Olde Crow Witch.I made it from a pattern by The Smiling Goat. She is a pretty good sized crow and so cute! She has rusty bells on her dress and on her boots. She has a little wool sack around her neck that has a tiny crow in it with some Sweet Annie. She also has her broom wired to her arm.I think she would look great for the Fall season and for Halloween! If you are interested in my Olde Crow Witch doll just send me an email tammywellman14@yahoo.com and I will give you all the details.I have more Fall primitives in the works so please check back,I will post pictures as I get things finished.Thank you so much for visiting my blog!Stay cool and think thoughts of Fall!

Our Graduate

Hi everyone,

I just had to share a very special picture that was taken tonight after my nephew Logan graduated.I think you will see how very proud I am of him.Logan,is a very sweet, caring and hard working young man.He is a very good son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend. He would give you the shirt off his back.He will be going away to college in August and I am having a very hard time dealing with that.I am going to miss him very much. You see,I never had any children of my own and my nephew and neice are like my own children. My husband says I have got to let go but it is so very hard.I know he will be a success in his new college life and I only want the best for him.I so wish that my Daddy(Logan's Grandpa)and my Grandparents(Logan's Great Grandparents)could have been here to see him graduate but I know they were watching from Heaven and I know they are proud too.I hope you will enjoy seeing the picture and just overlook me,I am a mess from crying many happy tears.

Bunnies,Bunnies and more Bunnies

Hi everyone,

Finally I am getting some time to update my blog.I have been so busy making Spring and Easter primitives and working on orders for swaps that I fell behind on my blog posts.I think I am finally caught up but still have another order that I am working on and I am doing a swap with one of my sweet online friends.I also have some house projects that I want to do now that it is Spring, but today feels more like Winter here in NC.It is cold with temps in the 30s and it has rained off and on most of the day.I am ready for the sun and warmer days. The house project I want to do is to redecorate my bedroom.I have it tore apart...LOL.There is nothing on the walls and only have the bed and what furniture we need for now.I had it decorated in an Americana theme but I was tired of that and want to go with a more primitive Prairie look.I bought 2 little wooden cabinets at Michael's and painted them black. They will be our night stands by the bed.I also painted my old deacons bench(it was my Grandparent's).I had wanted to paint it for a long time but I thought what would my Grandparents think of me doing that but finally I thought they really wouldn't care as long as it made me happy so I painted it black and it looks great!I haven't decided where I will put it yet but it will be somewhere in our bedroom.I still have some other things I want to make for the bedroom but I need to take care of orders and the swap first and now my sister wants me to do a show with her in May....there are just not enough hours in the day!

I thought I would post some pictures of the things I have been making and most of them are bunnies, bunnies and more bunnies!I think they really do multiply...LOL.I hope you will enjoy the pictures.I did a little Spring and Easter decorating but haven't taken any pictures yet.I might do that and will make that my next post.I hope everyone will enjoy the Spring days, that is if it feels like Spring where you are.Happy Spring!

A Wonderful Swap

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all staying warm wherever you may be with all the cold weather and snow.We have been lucky here in my part of NC...we have had a few nice, sunny, warm days.We got rain instead of snow and that was a good thing to me but it has turned cold again and they are calling for freezing rain in the morning and maybe some snow next week.I don't like that 4 letter word....SNOW!So onto better things.I was part of a swap on Tammy's blog A Primitive Place and I was very lucky to have Lorna (Live Oak Primitive Peddler) for my partner.Lorna is a very sweet lady and very talented too!I got my swap package from her yesterday and it was like Christmas!Lorna really spoiled me!She really knew what I like.It was like we had known each other for years and years. She made me an awesome Prairie doll.I love Prairie dolls. It is dressed in browns and smells so good! She also made me a stenciled primitive pillow.I love it!It is just prim perfect! It has black homespun patches on it and has such an old feeling to it.She also made me a set of stacking boxes in all my favorite prim colors. She even made me some pantry cakes and they smell good enough to eat!I love all of my prim goodies from Lorna! This was a great swap and the best part of it was that I now have a new prim friend!Thank you so much Lorna!I hope you will enjoy the pictures of my swap goodies from Lorna.Stay warm!

A fun day and my Christmas gift

Hi everyone,

Finally I am getting time to update my blog.Things have been crazy since Christmas but finally I am getting things back to normal or as normal as they can be for me...LOL.Today was a very fun day for me.I got to meet one of my Facebook friends Susie Hamill from Yankee Lane Primitives. We met at Diana Gaines' shop Splinters and Rags.I have known Diana for years and Susie had an order for Diana and she told her she would deliver it in person. We had a good time talking and laughing and Susie and I did some shopping.Susie is so sweet and fun.She is just as sweet and nice in person as she is online! In the picture Diana is in the brown jacket,I am in the middle in blue(but just don't look at me and my fat) and Susie is standing, she is in the black shirt. It was a fun day and I hope she will be able to come back to my area sometime so we can do some more talking, laughing and prim shopping.

I also wanted to post a picture of my Christmas gift from my sweet hubby. He went to Diana's shop and told her that I had been going on about wanting a make-do chair and that he had no idea what it was but if she would make one he would buy it so Diana and her husband Gary made one for Mark. They all kept this secret from me and Mark had even picked it up a few days before Christmas and had put it in his storage building. We exchange Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve and I thought he was crazy when he handed me the building keys and told me to go open the building and he was following me with the camera.I knew it wasn't a new car because it would have to be a tiny car to be out in the building.I was so surprised when I pulled that big lawn bag off and saw a make-do chair.I let out a scream! He really had been listening to me when I go on about things that I want...LOL.It is just perfect! The perfect size and color.I put it in my family room but I am still in the process of decorating it.I am going to put a doll in it and with all the dolls I have nothing looks right so I am going to make a doll just for my make-do chair.I had a great Christmas and was very pleased with my gift!If you want a really nice make-do chair then get in touch with Diana and Gary Gaines Splinters and Rags.

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas and a Happy New Year!I am hoping that 2011 will be a great year for us all!

Prim hugs,
