Christmas At My House 2011

Hi everyone,

I want to apologize for not posting in such a long time.I have been really busy with orders for the shops and then finishing a really big order that I just finished so finally I am finished with orders for 2011.We also had to be with my Mother-in-law right after Thanksgiving. She had to have surgery at Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem,NC.She has bone cancer and had some problems with her ovaries. They said a mass had formed from scar tissue and started to grow into her intestines so they wanted to remove it and there was a possibility it was cancer too.Thank the Lord her surgery went well and it was not cancer.Prayers were answered. She came home last Monday and is still recovering but doing some better. She goes back for a check up next week and I pray it will be good.

I finally got all of my Christmas decorating done.I didn't do as much this year.I went the less is more route...LOL.I am pleased with how it looks. We didn't do as much outside either. We just put the lighted holly garland on the columns on our front porch and hung icicle lights across the front of the porch.I put my Christmas wreath on the front door, put out my Christmas flags and decorated my old wood gate.I just put greenery garland, red berries and a Christmas sign.I did take some pictures of my inside decorating and I thought I would post them for you to see.I haven't put out my snowmen yet.I thought I would wait and put them out after Christmas so I would have a different look for the Winter.

I am not finished sewing for the year.I am working on some Christmas gifts.I hope to have everything finished before Christmas...LOL.I still have not wrapped one gift and I still need to finish buying a couple of gifts but I plan to do that within the next few days.I guess I will just take one day and do nothing but wrap gifts.I also still have baking to do and I know I will be spending the few days before Christmas in the kitchen getting ready for Christmas dinner at my Mom's house. We will also be going to my in-law's Christmas Eve,if my Mother-in-law is feeling up to it.

Well I better go for now and get to my sewing.I hope you will enjoy seeing my pictures.I hope you will have a very Merry Christmas!

Pilgrims

Hi everyone,

I am sorry it has been so long since I last posted but I have been so busy with orders that I haven't had much time for anything else.I wanted to make a quick post to share a picture of the Praying Pilgrims that I just finished last week.I was very pleased with how they turned out.I made them from a pattern by Hill Kountry Krafts. They would make a nice centerpiece for a dining room table for Thanksgiving dinner.I would love to make a set for myself but I doubt I will have time to with moving on to making Christmas primitives. So now I need to play catch up and give my house a good cleaning and finish my Fall decorating.I have only been doing a little at a time so hopefully I will get it all finished and can post some pictures.I guess I better go for now and get back to my sewing room.

I'm back again. Finally I have got on a roll and I am making good progress, still have lots more to do but hopefully I can stay on this roll and get more things made in the coming weeks.I finished the witch doll. Her name is Amelia.I made her from a pattern by Bittersweet Folkart. She has a cheesecloth apron, rusty safety pins on her shoes, dress and apron. She also has a broom tucked under her arm.I finally took a picture of the candle mat I made last week.It is called Grin'n Jacks and is just perfect for Halloween.I made it from a pattern by Chestnut Junction.I also finished a Fall stitchery pillow last night. It is called Basket of Pumpkins and I made it from a pattern by Chestnut Junction.I put Fall colored homespun on the backs of the candle mats and pillow. If you are interested in any of these items just email me tammywellman14@yahoo.com

and I will give you all the details.

I had a fun morning.Mark and I went to Country Heart in Shelby,NC.I took some Fall and Halloween primitives to Ann and we had a nice visit with Ann and her husband Michael.I also got to do some shopping.I bought 4 braided chair pads for my kitchen chairs and I got the new Mercantile Gatherings magazine.I love going to Ann's shop!It is a huge shop and like Mark said you could make 2 or 3 rounds and still find things you didn't see before. If you are ever in Shelby stop in and see Ann,I know you will lover her shop!

More Fall Primitives

Hi everyone,

I am finally getting a chance to post some more pictures of a couple of more things I have made.I love making Fall and Halloween primitives.I am having so much fun making pumpkin dolls. This one is Jack-O-Lin.She is 36 inches,so she is a big gal.She has a rusty key necklace, has her pet crow on her shoulder and Sweet Annie in her dress pocket.I made her from a pattern by Cats in the Barn.I love making stitcheries and this Halloween Sampler is one of my favorites.I like how it looks in the black wooden frame. It is 8x10.If you want to know more about these primitives just email me tammywellman14@yahoo.com and I will give you all the details.I just finished a couple of Halloween candle mats but I still need to take pictures of them.I also have a witch doll in the works so hopefully over the weekend I will be able to post pictures of it and the candle mats.I am wanting to start decorating for Fall but I normally don't start until the first of Sept. so I am trying my best to hold off but at least my sewing room is looking like Fall...LOL.I am so ready for some cool,Fall days but it looks like it will be awhile yet so for now I will just stay inside where it is cool and make my Fall primitives.I hope you are staying cool and looking forward to those cool days of Fall!

Thoughts of Fall

Hi everyone,

It has been so hot here in NC that I am trying to do anything I can to stay cool.I try not to go out for too long.I have asthma so it makes it hard for me to breathe when it is so hot out and if I am out for too long I end up using my inhaler and I don't like to do that unless I have to.So I have been staying inside in the cool AC in my sewing room working on Fall primitives.I love Fall!It is my favorite time of year.I love the cool, crisp days, the pretty leaves and I love to decorate for Fall!I thought I would show you some pictures of something that I made today. It is called Olde Crow Witch.I made it from a pattern by The Smiling Goat. She is a pretty good sized crow and so cute! She has rusty bells on her dress and on her boots. She has a little wool sack around her neck that has a tiny crow in it with some Sweet Annie. She also has her broom wired to her arm.I think she would look great for the Fall season and for Halloween! If you are interested in my Olde Crow Witch doll just send me an email tammywellman14@yahoo.com and I will give you all the details.I have more Fall primitives in the works so please check back,I will post pictures as I get things finished.Thank you so much for visiting my blog!Stay cool and think thoughts of Fall!

Our Graduate

Hi everyone,

I just had to share a very special picture that was taken tonight after my nephew Logan graduated.I think you will see how very proud I am of him.Logan,is a very sweet, caring and hard working young man.He is a very good son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend. He would give you the shirt off his back.He will be going away to college in August and I am having a very hard time dealing with that.I am going to miss him very much. You see,I never had any children of my own and my nephew and neice are like my own children. My husband says I have got to let go but it is so very hard.I know he will be a success in his new college life and I only want the best for him.I so wish that my Daddy(Logan's Grandpa)and my Grandparents(Logan's Great Grandparents)could have been here to see him graduate but I know they were watching from Heaven and I know they are proud too.I hope you will enjoy seeing the picture and just overlook me,I am a mess from crying many happy tears.
