Update on my booth

Hi everyone!

I must apologize once again for being so long in updating my blog.It just seems there are never enough hours in the day and now that the holidays are fast approaching things are getting even busier.I wanted to take time to let everyone know about mine and Sundae's booth at the antique & craft mall. The owner of the mall was having some problems with a leak in the roof in the area where our booth was so he asked us to move into a different booth so we spent Wednesday moving our booth.I think we have our new spot looking really good.We have added alot of new things and I have made some new Pilgrims and they are now in the booth.I thought you might like to see some pictures of how our updated booth looks. As always if you see something you are interested in just email me:

or for those that have my number just give me a call.We will start putting in Christmas things right after Halloween. If you are in the Hickory area please stop by and see our booth. We are still in the 2nd building but now you just go down the first row and we are the 2nd booth on the right.I hope everyone will have a great weekend!

Gooseberry Patch Christmas Books

Hi everyone!

I must apologize once again for being so slack in updating my blog but things have been really busy around my house. The garden is doing really good and we have been getting a lot of green beans, tomatoes, cucumbers and squash so Mark has started canning...yes,I said Mark does the canning and that is just fine with me because I just don't have the patience for it.I do help out though...I get to clean up the mess that he makes...LOL.I have also been working on some orders and trying to get started on Fall and Halloween things. We are also doing some major cleaning out at our house.I can't stand all the stuff that has just piled up and took over our guest bedroom and my sewing room looks like something has hit it so I am trying to clean out, throw away stuff and gather up stuff to have a really big yard sale.I came across some really nice books that I thought I would offer for sale here on my blog. They are the Gooseberry Patch Christmas books.I have books 1,2 & 3.They are all just like new.Book 3 is a hardback book and 1 & 2 are paperback.I paid $19.95 plus tax for each book but I will sell these books for $10.00 each plus shipping.I took a picture of them so you could see what they look like.If you are interested in these books just email me at

twellman@conninc.com and I will give you all the details.Well I guess I better go for now and get to my housework so I can go pick up some fabric that I ordered and get back home to finish an order.

I hope everyone will have a great week!

A doll for me

Hi everyone!

I hope you all are staying cool.It has been miserably hot her in my part of NC.We have been having 90 degree days and they are saying we could hit 95 tomorrow.I will be staying inside where it is cool!

I have been working on some dolls but the first one that I finished I made for myself.I rarely make anything for myself but I have decided that I am going to start and here is a picture of the doll that I made for me.She is a really big girl but oh so cute! She is already to do some gardening with her garden tool and watering can and her pet crow on her shoulder.I made her using a pattern by Angel and The Crow.I love Catherine's patterns!Today I have been working on some dolls that I have orders for and I am making a doll that will be a toaster cover for my Mom so I hope to have more pictures to share real soon.

I hope you all are enjoying your weekend and enjoying the hot days of Summer!

My new kittens

Hi everyone!

I know this post is not about anything primitive but I just had to make a post about my new kittens and show you a picture of them.A couple of months ago we lost our beloved cat Festus. We had him a long time so when he died it was pretty hard on us and we really didn't think we would want to get another cat but my MIL's cat had some kittens and all it took was one look at them and I had mine picked out...LOL.Well we ended up with 2...the one I picked out and Mark picked one.Mine is the beige one.It is a boy and I named him Ozzy.Mark's is the grayish black one and it is a girl and he named her Sharon...get it...Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne and yes they go at each other just like Ozzy and Sharon...LOL.They are so cute and so sweet!I hope you enjoy seeing the pictures of our new kittens!

Have a great day!

An apology and some new dolls

Hi everyone!

I would like to apologize to all my blogging buddies and to all that read my blog or follow my blog.I have been really slack in updating my blog but I promise to do better starting now.So much has been going on around my house and it just seemed like time flew by and there was no time to post and anyway I really had nothing exciting to post about and I had not been doing much if any crafting so I had no new pictures to share.Mark's Grandpa has been in and out of the hospital for over a month and had to go into a nursing home for a few weeks for rehab but he came home Wednesday. He has had a heart attack and a mild stroke and has had alot of medical problems. He seems to be a little better but I think that is because he is finally at home where he can be comfortable. We have spent alot of time going back and forth to the hospital and the nursing home but finally things are starting to calm down and get back to normal...whatever that is...LOL.I have got back to my sewing and I have made somethings.I just finished these cute Sam and Libby hanging dolls. They were made from a pattern by TFC Folkart.I made a black set and a white set.If you are interested in them just email me at

twellman@conninc.com and I will give you all the details.I have more things that I am currently working on so you will be seeing more pictures real soon.I am working on Americana things that would be great for Summer and 4th of July decorating.I am also working on some new primitive dolls.I am going to try my best to do better with keeping my blog updated.I hope everyone will have a great weekend!

Finally back joining in on Whatcha Workin On Wednesday

Hi everyone,

I am back from my much needed break. It really wasn't much of a break being that I spent most of it doing housework, yard work and I helped Mark get the garden planted.I did take a little break from sewing but to tell you the truth I got bored...I never get bored...LOL,so last week I got back to the sewing.I didn't push myself, just did a little sewing each day and some stitching at night.I wanted to get back to joining in on Whatch Workin On Wednesday and I did it!I have been working on some mice...yes,I said mice but they are the cutest little mice!I used a pattern by Stacey of Ravens Haven. Thanks Stacey for such a great pattern!I love how these cute little mice turned out.The 4 in the picture are for sale and I made a 5th one for a friend for her birthday.I sure hope she will like it.I have also been using some of my prim labels that I bought awhile back from Yankee Lane Primitives.Someone gave Mark a jar of Molasses awhile back and it has just been sitting on a shelf in the kitchen because I don't care for molasses unless they are baked in something....it just reminds me of motor oil...YUCK!Anyway when I was going through my labels I came across one that said Molasses and a light when off in my head...LOL...I put it on that jar of molasses and took some stained osnaburg and made a topper for it.It turned out great!I took a picture of it but please look past that ugly wall paper in the background,it will soon be painted and then I will show you some nice pictures of my kitchen.Well that is all I have for today.I guess I better get back to my laundry...something else I can't seem to stay ahead of...LOL.

Have a great day!

Show Pictures

Hi everyone!

I hope your week has started off to be a good one.I have been taking it easy...LOL.I am still pretty drained from all the prep before the show and then the show this past Saturday.I don't have too much to say about the show....it was bad from the start. There was no organization,no one to give you information or even to say thank you for doing the show.We made the best of it and got our booth set up.It was very hot and thank goodness we didn't get any afternoon storms like they were calling for.I was on the very end,I have never been on the end and our booth and 2 others were with all the food....that has never happened to me.Needless to say no one came to our end unless they wanted food so we didn't get a lot of sales. It was a very disappointing day but we made the best of it.I had a good time laughing and talking with my friend Sundae. She was in with me selling her primitives. We had a nice booth and got a lot of nice compliments, just not a lot of people buying.I do know that I will never do this show again.I wanted to post some pictures of the booth and there are a couple of me and my friend Sundae.I am in pink and Sundae is in blue.If you see anything in the pictures that you are interested in just email me or give me a call and I will give you all the information.

I am taking this week off to get rested up but I am already getting the itch to start sewing again.I will be helping Mark get our garden planted this week since he plowed up everything yesterday and of course we have yard work to do so there will be a lot to keep me busy.I hope you all are enjoying nice, sunny days.

Have a nice week!

Whatcha Workin On Wednesday

Hi everyone,

I want to apologize for being so behind in posting.I am trying to stay busy working on things for the show on April 25th.I still have so much to do and not much time left.I also had everyone at my house Easter Sunday for dinner so I had to take a day off to clean my house, cook and bake and then Sunday by the time everyone left I was too tired to work on anything.

I am finally getting back to Whatcha Workin On Wednesday and my post for today is...I have been working on dolls and I am still working on dolls.I am working on other things too but this week has mainly been devoted to working on dolls. Here is a picture of some dolls that I just finished. They are patiently waiting to go to the show...LOL.I am working on 2 dolls right now plus I have stitchery pillows that need to be stuffed so I better go for now and get back to my sewing room. Please check back for all the details about the show.I will be posting about it over the weekend and I will have more pictures of things I am making.

Laundry Swap Goodies

Hi everyone,

I am behind once again and missed Whatch Workin On Wednesday but I can tell you that I am trying to stay busy working on things for a show the end of this month.

I got a nice surprise in the mail Monday. It was my swap package from Birgit(The Primitive Country Bug).We were swap partners for the Laundry Room Swap that Char(The Pickled Pepper Patch)organized.I immediately tore into that box!Birgit had everything so nicely wrapped that I hated to tear the wrapping but you know I did...LOL.She was too good to me!She had that box full of nice prim goodies! She made me the cutest framed Laundry Day stitchery.I never make myself stitcheries so I will cherish this one.It will look great in my laundry room. She also made me a pillow with a cute little clothespin doll.I love it and the color is just perfect!I have always wanted one and now I have one!She also made me something else that I have always wanted and said I would make myself one but just never did,a really cute Folk bird on a covered box.I love it!She also made a really primitive grubbied jar that says Primitive Blessings. Also in my swap goodies was a package of Crow Fixins,I love rosehips! There was a really nice red star carrier and a cute fabric tag.She also put in a really good smelling jar candle. The scent is Apple Jack. She also put in a package of her beautiful handmade cards. If you don't have any of Birgit's cards you should get some. She is so talented!I can't wait to send some to my family and friends. She also put in a box of Skittles but Mark got those...LOL.Birgit was a great swap partner!I really enjoyed doing this swap and the best part of it was that I made a new friend in Birgit!I haven't got to put out my swap goodies yet because we will be painting my laundry room soon but when we do get it painted I will be taking pictures of all my swap goodies in my laundry room and now my break is over and I better head back to my sewing room.I hope everyone will have a nice day!

Another Bunny & Whatcha Workin On Wednesday

Hi everyone!

Well here it is Wednesday and I am behind once again. My hubby is on vacation this week so it is hard for me to get much of anything done but he did make 2 more trenchers yesterday and he even tried his hand at making a shorter, wider one and it came out pretty good.I can't thank Char(The Pickled Pepper Patch)enough for her wonderful instructions for those trenchers and now thanks to Char he wants to try to make some other wood stuff...Thank You Char, you're the best!Of course I still have to paint the trenchers that he made yesterday but I thought I would share a picture of what they look like so far.I also made another bunny.I think the bunnies are multiplying around here...LOL.I made this cute Old Bunny from a Veena's Mercantile pattern. These were really good sellers for me a couple of years ago so I thought I would make another one.So if you are interested in it just email me:twellman@conninc.com

I also finished the goodies for the laundry swap but I can't post those pictures and I have been working on things for an upcoming show but I haven't taken any pictures yet but I promise I will.I did all of this inbetween having a new heating and air system put in on Monday.I am glad it is done but what a mess I had to clean up afterwards.I am just glad the rain held off until today.I guess I better head back to my sewing room so I can get myself busy working on an order and making things for the show.Have a great day!

I'm Back and Whatcha Workin On Wednesday

Hi everyone,

Finally I am back and getting to share my Whatcha Workin on Wednesday.I didn't get to share anything last week as I had my hubby home sick and the only thing I worked on was things for a swap and I sure didn't want my swap partner to get a sneak peek...LOL.This week I have really been trying to work hard on several things.I am trying to get things made for an upcoming show the end of April, working on finishing the swap goodies, working on another birthday gift and somethings for a shop that I consign at.I am also getting Spring fever really bad. Finally we had a beautiful, warm day here in NC yesterday and I went out and did some cleaning in my soggy yard.We have got a lot of rain since last weekend so the yard is a mess.I put out my Spring and Easter flags and I put a grapevine wreath on my tobacco stick gate to make it have a lighter more Spring look. Now I want to get some pretty flowers to plant in my old planter chair but Mark says I need to hold off just a little bit because we could still get some cooler temps....I might wait until next week...LOL.Anyway I do have a couple of pictures to share.I finished an Easter stitchery pillow. It was made from a Buttermilk Basin pattern.I finally got my rosehips and was able to decorate my trencher that Mark made for me.I love the way it looks all decorated but wouldn't you know I just can't decide where I want to put it...LOL.I also had him to make one for my friend for her birthday and she loved it so they are a hit! Thanks so much Char for sharing the instructions!I have 2 other friends that saw them and they want one so I have got to get him to work on making more.Well that is all I have to share for today but I have lots more in the works so I will be sharing more later.I hope everyone will have a nice week with nice warm weather!

A beautiful day and Bird Make-dos

Hi everyone,

It was a beautiful day here in NC.It was so nice and sunny and warm.It was in the 70s today. It is still 70 degrees at almost 9pm!They are saying we could hit 80 degrees tomorrow!I am loving this weather and I hope it will stay with us.I did get out and enjoy the nice weather for a little while today and I sat out on our back porch this evening while Mark grilled some steaks for us.I spent most of the day working in my sewing room.I finally got the bird make-dos finished.I made them using a pattern by Sassafras Hill Primitives.I was really pleased with how they turned out.The ones I made are for birthday gifts for 3 of my friends but the brown one is for sale and I plan to make a few more for a show in April. So if you are interested in a bird make-do just email me

I spent the rest of the day working on swap goodies and things for the show.I love it when I can spend a whole day in my sewing room and not be interrupted and believe me that doesn't happen too often...LOL.

I hope you are getting some nice weather where you are.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Spring Decorating and Whatcha Workin On Wednesday

Hi everyone,

I am so ready for Spring and I thought it was just around the corner but I thought wrong.Sunday night we got some Winter weather....started out with a heavy, cold rain and turned to sleet and the sleet turned to snow and by Monday morning we had 6 inches of snow on the ground.I am not a big fan of snow.I do not go out in snow.I had a bad experience driving in snow several years ago and I vowed I would never drive in snow again and I haven't.So as you can imagine I am going crazy in the house but at least I have had lots of time to work on things.Since I am so ready for Spring I decided to go ahead and start my Spring/Easter decorating at least inside the house.I did a little decorating yesterday and here are a few pictures that I took.I did put out some pretty(fake)hydragias in a black pitcher in my kitchen but that is as far as I got in there.I still have more to do so I will be posting more pictures as I get things done.

It is Wednesday so that means it is time to share my Whatcha Workin On Wednesday. So far I finished painting the trenchers but still have not got my rosehips so I can't decorate them yet.I also grubbied some battery operated tea lites for the trenchers.I have also been trying to finish some birthday gifts for 3 of my friends that have birthdays this month.I took a picture of the bird make-dos that I am working on for their gifts.I want to get them finished hopefully today.I have also been working on things for a swap that I am in over on Char's blog(The Pickled Pepper Patch).I can't show pictures of those things because I wouldn't want my swap partner to see her swap goodies...LOL.I am also trying to finish a couple of bunnies which I didn't take pictures of either because they are naked and are patiently awaiting their clothes...LOL.So I have lots to keep me busy today and the rest of the week and I better be getting to it.I hope everyone will have a great day!

Whatcha Workin On Wednesday

Hi everyone,

I am finally getting a chance to post my Whatcha Working On Wednesday.I finished the bunny for my sister and I thought I would post the finished picture of it.It is just a little stained because my sister is not crazy about primitives. She let me stain the body so it would look like a natural brown color but she would not let me "dirty up"(her words...LOL) the clothes. It was all I could do not to stain those clothes...LOL.I made the bunny from a Sunnyknoll pattern.I have also been doing some painting on some wood trenchers that my hubby and I made over the weekened.I got the instructions for making them from Char's blog The Pickled Pepper Patch...I love her blog and she has the best patterns and projects and she takes you through them step by step.My hubby is not a wood worker...LOL....he is great with cars...can tell you what is wrong with them just from listening to them, fix them, paint them etc. but give the poor guy a piece of wood and he is lost...LOL.When I saw the trencher project I knew I had to have one so I started the sweet talk and even made him look at the instructions on Char's blog and he said ok we will give it a try and Saturday we went to Lowes and got the wood and made 2 trenchers, one for me and one for my friend.I was pleased with how they turned out and proud of my hubby too!He is even wanting to try making something else now that he sees how Char gives the step by step instructions so hopefully I will be getting more prim goodies!I have been in the process of painting the trenchers and the picture shows the first one I started painting yesterday.I will post the finished pictures of them.My friend is getting one of them for her birthday.Well that is what I have been working on other than stuffing some birds to go on springs.I better get back to that painting.

Have a great day!

Hi everyone,

As promised I am posting pictures of some of the things that I finished from my What You Working On Wednesday.Yesterday I finished these cute little Prairie Rabbit Ornies.I made them using a pattern by Sweetpeas Primitives. They are so cute with their Spring colored dresses and cute little chicks in their arms. They are about 10 inches tall.I used a yummy smelling prim staining mix to give them that grungy prim look and they smell so good! These little cuties are for sale and if you are interested in them you can email me at:

I will be taking some to the shops too.I have been trying to get the bunny for my sister finished and it is just about done.I hope to work on it today so I can post finished pictures of it hopefully tomorrow.
